6 to 10 feet. Quick growing summer vine has pink pea-like flowers and glossy deep purple curved pods. Pods are marginally edible, lose color when cooked and lack flavor. Grow as an ornamental, provide sturdy support and enjoy the vibrant colors of this fine strain. Suitable as a cut flower. Perennial in Zone 10.
Planting Directions: Direct sow in spring after frost danger has passed and soil temperature is a minimum of 60˚, 70˚ is optimum. Plant 1”to 2” deep, 4-6” apart. Cultivate soil incorporating compost or a low nitrogen general purpose fertilizer. Keep soil moist until seed germinates, after that water moderate and regularly.
