Perilla, also known as shisho, the green cinnamon scented leaves are used in Japanese and Korean cookery. Once an important vegetable in China.
Planting Directions: Plant indoors 6 to 8 weeks prior to transplanting to the garden later when weather is thoroughly settled. The fine seed should be barely covered with fine soil and well pressed down. Germination takes 15-30 days with light and temperatures of 65°-75° \. Thin or transplant when plants are 2” tall to their outdoor sunny or lightly shaded location. Space plants 12” apart in row 18” apart. Soil should be slightly dry and well drained.
