Open pollinated. An annual legume. Crimson clover is excellent for nitrogen fixation. A fall planting will flower in April. Till under between April 15 and May 1. Seeding rates 1000 sq ft - 8 oz. 1 acre - 20-25 lbs.
Planting Directions: Sow seeds in well prepared soil. Broadcast seed over planting area and rake into the soil to a maximum depth of one half inch. Do not allow soil to dry out until seed has germinated. For a winter cover crop plant late Fall, 6 to 8 weeks before first frost. Full sun to partial shade. Water regularly until well established. Work into soil before the blooms mature normally in April. May need to mow or cut before turning into the soil. Adds organic matter to the soil as well as nitrogen.
